CAMBR

Materials Science is the study of substances as the ingredients from which we make things. This encompasses natural products such as rock, an Earth material, and wood, a biomaterial (both often modified to improve their properties), structural materials (including iron and concrete, but also modern synthetic materials such as aerospace alloys and polymer/nanoparticle composites), and optoelectronic materials (the display and circuitry in your smartphone, for instance). Modern society relies on materials, and many of our efforts to decrease energy consumption and carbon emissions are centred on improved materials design
