Why Support Western Science?

Academic excellence is at the heart of Science at Western, and that quality starts with our award-winning faculty. The success of our students is critical to the Faculty and we are proud to acknowledge that our faculty are amongst the most successful in winning national 3M Teaching Awards. The accolades are, in part, a consequence of our holistic approach to teaching. Instructors constantly strive to include new ideas and approaches into their courses. Part of this effort is to incorporate “realworld” problems into lectures and laboratories so that students can identify more easily with the process of finding solutions. The Faculty of Science is composed of dedicated researchers, teachers and staff whose areas of expertise directly address the challenges of modern research and education. Supplementing these individuals is the impressive array of widely recognized research centres and laboratory equipment available for multidisciplinary studies.
