The University of Western Ontario utilizes several independent information systems to coordinate your academic and/or professional careers at Western. While access to these systems is maintained through one constant digital Western Identity, it is important for you to understand the information and services that each of these systems can provide.
Accessing Information Systems at Western
In order to access any information system at Western, you should follow these steps:
- Obtain your Access Code
You may obtain their Access Code online through UWO Access Code Retrieval. You will require your Western ID Number, Date of Birth and your Social Insurance Number or OUAC Application Number.
- Obtain your digital Western Identity
You can gain access to your Western Identity* by visiting the Western Information Technology Services (ITS) website.
- Access the Information System
*If you believe your Identity has been compromised, you can reset the information through the Western ITS Center.
Student Center - PeopleSoft Student Administration System
The Western Student Center allows you to view Western data and update information online in real time. These features include:
- Updating personal information
- Obtaining T2202A (education tax receipt)
- Checking realtime tuition balances/fees
- Producing unofficial academic reports
- Checking grades
- Checking transfer credits

Western Financials System
Western Financials is a secure online application which provides you with the ability to:
- Apply for travel expense reimbursements
my Human Resources - PeopleSoft Human Resources System
myHumanResources is a secure online application which provides you with access to your employment-related information, including:
- Pay statements
- Benefit coverage
- Career opportunities
- Online payment information
All individuals with employment at the University are encouraged to use this application to ensure the safety and accuracy of their personal data.
Within Student Services graduate students can access services to help you during your time here at Western. These Features Include:
- Ordering official transcripts
WebCT OWL is an online learning management system available to students, staff and faculty at Western. Instructors can use OWL to:
- Make their lectures available
- Create evaluations
- Post grades
