RD&S - Funding - Internal Funding

Scholarly Journals at Western

Research Western has established the Scholarly Journals program at Western. Support for this program is made available on a one-time basis for three years through a special allocation of Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) funding managed by the Office of the Vice-President (Research & International Relations). The purpose of the program is to provide seed money to support the administrative costs of not-for-profit scholarly journals hosted on campus in the social sciences, arts and humanities. Priority will be given to journals which are either international in scope or are distributed internationally.

University faculty, whose responsibilities include editorial and/or management oversight of scholarly journals at Western, are eligible to apply for funding to a maximum of $3,000 per year, tenable for three years. The grants must be held at Western and managed by Research Western.

Applications which include complementary funding from Faculty, journal publishers, associations, or other sources will have a competitive advantage.
