Description: |
The Disease Team grant will support projects that are developing novel cellular or stem cell-related therapeutic approaches to tissue repair and regeneration for specific diseases. Projects may also involve: 1) completion of proof-of-principle experiments in small or large animal models using novel cells or compounds/drugs or using novel translational approaches; 2) identification/characterization of compounds/drugs that target stem cell differentiation/proliferation with the aim to develop novel therapeutic approaches; 3) production of reagents necessary for the completion of a clinical trial. Projects that include progress to actual clinical trials are encouraged but such applications must identify all appropriate co-funding partners. In all cases, the project must be clearly aimed at developing therapies and must outline a clear path to the clinic.
