The FPSC Foundation is committed to developing and promoting financial planning research and education for the benefit of financial and allied professionals, education providers and the Canadian public. The FPSC Foundation wishes to fund research that is relevant and useful to the financial planning profession in Canada. All submitted research grants must meet the research objectives of the Foundation which includes the development and dissemination of: Technical research that examines best practices in financial planning decision-making; Behavioural research that examines the impact of human behaviour on effective financial planning; and Societal research that examines the benefits of financial planning on society as a whole.

The proposed research proposal must fall within one of the strategic priorities for the Foundation All proposals are first reviewed for General Eligibility Criteria and Program Specific Eligibility Criteria before being shortlisted. All shortlisted submissions will undergo a second review against the following criteria: Team Composition, Originality and Importance, Methodology and Budget. Application Details:

General Eligibility Criteria: The PI is a Canadian citizen or legal resident. Co-applicants may be citizens or residents of other countries. The PI is not a member of the staff, Board of Directors, or a Committee member of the FPSC Foundation. The PI has disclosed other sources of funding (if applicable). The PI can demonstrate that he/she works in an environment that adequately supports research through ethical review, administration of funds, providing of space and equipment, etc. Research Proposal details include all required fields from FPSC Foundation Research Grant Application. PIs have agreed to the terms set out in this manual, and have signed off Section 5 of the FPSC Foundation Research Grant Application.

Submission procedure: Complete the application and convert and submit as a PDF. Attachments may be included with application document or compiled into a single document. INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
