As a premier funder of neurosurgical studies, the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation (NREF) of the American Association of Neurosurgeons (ANS) focuses on providing fellowship funding in basic neuroscience and neurosurgical programs in North America. The length of the entire application must not exceed 30 pages, including application form, proposal, budget, etc. The applicant?s CV and letters of reference are excluded from the page limitation. Please include page numbers and the applicant?s name at the top of all pages. |

Application Details: |
Open to residents only, the Research Fellowship is offered as a one-year research project grant of $40,000. Applicants must be physicians who have been accepted into, or who are currently in, approved residency training programs in neurosurgery in North America. NREF encourages the submission of both patient-oriented clinical research and basic science research applications. Applications related to all aspects of neurosurgery are encouraged. The completed application, sponsor statement, program director comments, and letters of recommendation must be received by midnight October 31, 2012. Electronic submission of the application will only be accepted. In addition to the electronic copy of the application, please send a hard copy of the signature page to the mailing address in the sponsor guidelines.THIS PROGRAM DOES NOT ALLOW FOR INDIRECT COSTS |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
