Description: |
The Mitacs Elevate Postdoctoral Fellowship program addresses the needs of the Canadian economy by strengthening academic-business collaborations, producing graduates with the broad range of skills for innovation, and developing solutions to business challenges.
The Mitacs Elevate PDF program expands Canada's research innovation capacity by equipping highly-trained recent PhD graduates with skills to identify, address, and manage industrial research challenges. Prior to submitting their final proposals, applicants are required to submit an Intent to Apply. The Intent to Apply is due no later than 5:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time, November 4, 2013 and must include:
Applicant name, Supervising professor name, University, Company name (if applicable), Discipline,
Max. of 10 relevant keywords (half related to the project topic and half related to the technical discipline), List of 4 expert arms-length reviewers & their contact information (e.g. name, university, department, e-mail)
The Intent to Apply must be submitted via the Mitacs Elevate webform . |

Application Details: |
A Mitacs Elevate PDF fellow annual award consists of a research grant provided to the academic supervisor to help cover the fellow's stipend and research costs, as well as specialized leadership and management training delivered by Mitacs. The total annual grant is $57,500. A minimum of $50,000 must be provided to the Post-doctoral Fellow in salary or stipend each year.
The partner organization must contribute $25,000 cash annually towards the Mitacs Elevate PDF program, as well as in-kind support as appropriate. Partner funds must be sent directly to Mitacs to be matched and sent to the university.The deadline for submitting your application is 11:59 pm November 19, 2013. Proposals must be received on the prepared template. Two copies of this document must be provided to constitute a complete proposal. One must be saved in PDF format, and one must be scanned in PDF format with the required signatures. When you have all the necessary documents ready, please submit them by email to elevate(at)mitacs.ca. |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
