Description:

SDTC's SD Tech Fund invests in late-stage development and pre-commercial demonstration of clean technologies by Canadian companies.

The Statement of Interest (SOI) phase was created to provide applicants an early assessment of their project's compliance with SDTC funding criteria before they invest the considerable time required to compile a full proposal. SDTC evaluates SOIs based on the claimed and described capabilities in technology, marketing, and business (partnerships and funding). Each of these topics is essential to project assessment. Applicants should note that SDTC does not intend to contribute to early-stage research, nor to pure commercial activities or project financing. Rather, we aim to support the pre-commercial development and demonstration stages of new sustainable development technologies relevant to the primary economic sectors in Canada. In-depth information about the SOI phase is available in a two-part audiovisual presentation (originally a webinar) in the presentations section.

Application Details: SDTC believes it is critical to build consortia that represent the full spectrum of a technology's supply chain, involving researchers, product developers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and end customers. Eligible projects must focus on the development and demonstration of new technologies that address issues of climate change, clean air, water and soil quality. The projects must be undertaken primarily in Canada. The online application system must be used for all submissions. Please refer to www.sdtc.ca for full submission details.
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
