Description:

NYSCF is soliciting applications from early career investigators for awards that will cultivate research exploring the therapeutic potential of human stem cells. The main goal of this initiative is to foster truly innovative science with the probability for transforming the field of stem cell research, and advance the understanding and eventual use of stem cells for the treatment of human disease. In addition to providing funding, NYSCF would partner with the investigator to advance translational goals of the research.

The award provides a maximum of $300K per annum for a period of up to five years. The award does not provide additional institutional overhead.

Application Details:

NYSCF will accept applications from researchers based in: the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

The research proposal should contain a summary, specific aims and goals, experimental design, timeline, significance and relevance to clinical translation. For applications using human embryonic stem cells or human tissue, the candidate must obtain appropriate Embryonic Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee (ESCRO) or human subjects research approvals in advance of the award start date. Please submit applications by email before 5:00 PM (EST) on July 8, 2011 to investigators@nyscf.org. Applications should be sent as a single electronic file (PDF) with components in the order listed above.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
