The vision of the Grain Farmers of Ontario is to drive the Ontario grain industry to become a global leader. Projects that are eligible for funding by GFO will have the potential to enhance our farmer memberss' return. Proposals will be selected for funding based on the benefit the results may provide to farmers, the scientific merit, and the degree to which they meet the GFO research priority areas. The Grain Farmers of Ontario welcomes the submission of proposals for research conducted in corn, soybean or wheat for funding in 2014. We are looking to fund projects in the four research priority areas: Agronomy & Production; Weed, Disease & Insect Pests; Breeding & Genetics; and Crop Quality & Utilization. |

Application Details: |
GFO will primarily support research projects conducted through recognized public research institutions (i.e. Government Research Stations; Canadian Universities / Colleges). GFO can support research conducted through private companies/individuals, if significant collaboration/partnering with public research institutions is demonstrated. For your submission, please complete the new Research Proposal template as well as the Budget template. Instructions are contained within the templates. Refer to the attached Research Priorities document to ensure your project aligns with our priorities.Researchers seeking funding in 2014 must submit proposals by the deadline of Monday, December 2, 2013 at 4:00 pm.

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
