Description:

The goal of the LE&RN Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards Program is to expand and strengthen the pool of outstanding junior investigators in the field of lymphatic research. Funded projects will include lymphatic system research which will result in improved understanding and advances in the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of lymphedema, lymphangiomas, cystic hygromas, lymphangiectasias, mixed vascular disorders and/or other lymphatic disorders. Projects in lymphoma or leukemia research are outside the scope of this program.

The Lymphatic Education & Research Network is accepting applications worldwide from postdoctoral fellows who will meet the following eligibility requirements by July 1, 2014: Received a Ph.D. or equivalent and/or a M.D. or equivalent from an accredited domestic or foreign institution; Commit at least 90% time for research or, at least 70% time for research if the applicant also has clinical responsibilities; Have completed no more than three years of full time postdoctoral research experience; Be a postdoctoral fellow under the supervision of a faculty member; Submit a project relevant to the mission of the Lymphatic Research Foundation. Eligibility is not limited to those investigators with past experience in the field.

Application Details:

The LE&RN Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is designed to support postdoctoral scientists in non-profit academic, medical or research institutions throughout the world. The awards will support investigators who have recently received their doctorates, a critical point in career development when young scientists choose their lifelong research focus. Each applicant must be working under the supervision of an established investigator who is the designated Mentor. Two-year fellowships ranging from $82,000 to $95,000 per year will be awarded to fellows who have completed no more than three years of postdoctoral training by July 1st of the LE&RN funding cycle.

Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
