International Rett Syndrome Foundation's (IRSF) grant awards are meant to provide seed money for research that encompasses innovative therapeutic approaches and cutting-edge diagnostic techniques that will lead to follow-on funding. The two year Regular research grant awards are meant to (1) provide seed money for research that encompasses innovative therapeutic approaches and cutting-edge diagnostic techniques, (2) assist investigators establish careers in fields relevant to Rett syndrome research, and (3) lead to follow-on funding from other agencies. |

Application Details: |
The maximum funding level for research grants is $50,000 per year for up to two years. Grants are made for technical support, supplies, equipment and relevant travel. Indirect costs of up to 10% of direct costs may be included. Proposals for less than the maximum amount are encouraged. Funding for the second year is non-competitive but is based on review of the first year's progress report. Please Note: Academic Investigators must hold a faculty position to be eligible. Before a full application can be submitted, the researcher must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) describing the project in a succinct manner (1-2 pages). The LOI should include objectives and specific aims of the proposal, preliminary data, design methods, and qualifications of the candidate and mentor.INDIRECT COSTS OF 10% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT BUDGET |
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
