Description:

Designed to support research on suicide from a variety of disciplines, including psychiatry, medicine, psychology, genetics, epidemiology, neurobiology, sociology, nursing, health services administration and many others.

Applicants are expected to show evidence of prior research or research training in a related field. These are intended to fund new directions and initiatives in suicide research rather than to supplement the applicant's existing research.

Application Details:

Grants are not intended to support the development or implementation of prevention programs, educational programs, treatments, or other interventions that do not have a significant research component

Applications must be submitted on the appropriate AFSP forms available on the Sponsor website and follow the format specified. Applications are to be submitted electronically to grants@afsp.org.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
