The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is pleased to invite eligible organizations to submit a proposal for funding under the Community-Based Programming Component of the Canadian Diabetes Strategy for 2012 to 2014. The 2012-14 funding priorities under the CDS Community-Based Program are: 1.Development, implementation and evaluation of tools and approaches for the early detection and/or management of pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes in M?tis, First Nations and Inuit living outside their traditional communities, or; Development, implementation and evaluation of type 2 diabetes prevention tools and interventions that target overweight/obese children and youth at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. |

Application Details: |
The aim of the CDS is to prevent type 2 diabetes, especially among Canadians who are at higher risk (e.g., family history, overweight/obese, pre-diabetic, certain ethnic groups) and to promote the early detection and management of the disease in order to prevent diabetes-related complications. A Guide for Applicants has been developed for this solicitation process and provides an overview of the Fund, eligibility requirements, further information on each of the priority activity areas and other detailed instructions. NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
