Description:

The Innovation Strategy focuses on innovation and learning in population health interventions to reduce health inequalities in Canada. Priorities are selected on the basis of the significance of the issue for public health and the need for better evidence on effective interventions. The IS supports the development, adaptation, implementation, and evaluation of promising, innovative population health interventions and initiatives in various settings and populations in Canada. The IS also supports knowledge translation and dissemination based on the systematic collection of results and outcomes of these interventions and promotion of their use across Canada.

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is seeking proposals for Phase I of the Innovation Strategy's second cycle solicitation entitled ?Achieving Healthier Weights in Canada?s Communities?. Please see guidelines for priority focus areas and scope of activities. There are 13 REQUIRED activities as part of the proposed initiatives first phase. The amount of funding for the first phase of approved projects will depend on the scope and range of proposed activities. The program will consider projects based on how much work can be accomplished in the timeframe for Phase I.

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
