The Grand Challenges family of initiatives fosters innovation to solve key health and development problems. See below for Grand Challenges grant opportunities with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as sole or contributing funder. Round 19 is targeting the following challenges:
Health Systems Strengthening: Ensuring Effective Health Supply Chains
New Approaches for Improving Timeliness of Routine Immunizations in Low-Resource Settings
Wearables and Technology for Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Behavior Change
Innovations for Integrated Diagnostics Systems |

Application Details: |
The initiative uses an agile, accelerated grant-making process with short two-page applications and no preliminary data required. Applications are submitted online, and winning grants are chosen approximately 4 months from the submission deadline.
Initial grants of $100,000 are awarded two times a year. Successful projects have the opportunity to receive a follow-on grant of up to $1 million.Please see the sponsor's website for details regarding each challenge. |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
