Description: CFCAS announces a special call for proposals for regional consortia whose work builds on the scientific benefits of previous CFCAS-funded research networks and major projects. Grants will be available for approximately 6 regional consortia, to support scientific studies focused on regional issues. The studies are expected to use integrated scientific approaches and concepts, and convey the benefits of the work to stakeholders in the region. While the regional aspect refers primarily to geographic regions of the country, it could also accommodate major thematic areas. Researchers whose networks are complementary are expected to collaborate on a single proposal whenever feasible

Application Details: Proposals must include a covering letter, application form (Form 101) and no more than 4 additional pages (single sided). Applications must conform to normal presentation standards (as described in the CFCAS Instructions to Applicants - March 2004). Complete CFCAS Form 101 (Application ? revised June 2010) all sections. Forms can be printed from the CFCAS web site http://www.cfcas,org/ `Applications to CFCAS?. Form 101 was prepared for a previous competition, hence you are asked to adapt your entries as appropriate (e.g. list regional partners, including partners at colleges, in municipalities or others with whom you will be collaborating). Submit one original with signatures (applicants and university) and 1 copy, by March 6, 2012. Alternatively, a single scanned copy can be submitted electronically to: turnbull@cfcas.org , with the original following by mail.
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval.
