The FCRF was created in 2000 through an agreement between the Embassy of France in Canada and a consortium of 16 Canadian universities, both English and French speaking, expanded today to 19 universities and the company Total .
The France-Canada Research Fund (FCRF) acts to promote and develop Franco-Canadian scientific and academic exchanges of excellence in every field of study, from the "hard" sciences to human and social sciences. The Program will evaluate proposals on the following criteria:
- Innovative nature of the proposed project (quality, pertinence)
- Contribution to the advancement of knowledge (project implications)
- Quality of the dossier presented by researchers and team members (publications, credits, other
types of prior recognition)
- Proposed execution of research (methodology, calendar, budget)
- Significance and contributions of the binational collaboration (team dynamics and balance between
teams)
- Participation of young researchers and/or Master?s/doctoral students (contributions, benefits) |

Application Details: |
This program provides financing for new scientific projects jointly developed by French and Canadian
teams that have never worked together before. The financing is awarded to two-year projects in
amounts ranging from $8,000 to $15,000, according to the needs expressed by lead researchers. This
financing is primarily intended to support the mobility of researchers and their students. Submitted
proposals must be joint projects between a French establishment (all universities, Grandes ?coles, and
research organizations are eligible) and one of the FCRF's Canadian member universitiesThe application form must be sent to both assistant.science@ambafrance-ca.org and researchoffice@uwo.ca (UWO's Canadian Correspondent). The form can be completed in either english or in french. |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
