Description:

The Wilfred and Joyce Posluns Chair in Women's Brain Health and Aging is a new integrated initiative within CIH's Dementia Research Strategy. The Strategy supports research on the latest preventive, diagnostic and treatment approaches to Alzheimer's disease and related dementia. This new Chair Program will provide an added opportunity to delve deeper into this area of research and support capacity building in women's brain health.

The total amount available is enough to fund one Chair. The maximum amount is $200,000 per annum for up to 5 years as detailed: Chair salary: $100,000 per annum per year for salary support, including fringe benefits; Research allowance: $100,000 per annum. Application Details: It is an expectation that the successful applicant's institution will provide the Chair holder with all the support he/she needs to ensure the success of his or her work, such as dedicated time for research (e.g., by reducing the teaching load or releasing the researcher from certain administrative duties), providing laboratories or research offices and facilities with minimal resources to run the research projects described in the research program. For this program, institutions must ensure that the Chair holder is able to devote a minimum of 75 per cent of his or her work time to research. The institution must commit to provide a complement of salary to the Chair holder and will commit to integrate the researcher, if not already done, into a permanent position after the end of the award period.Your Application must be submitted using ResearchNet.
