Description: |
The objective of this funding opportunity is to support the creation of formal national networks in the following priority research areas: respiratory health, vascular health, stroke clinical trials, and imaging.
The current funding opportunity will support the creation of formal national networks in areas that are relevant to the mandate of the Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH). These Emerging Networks will bring together a unified group of investigators and stakeholders ranging from basic discovery to population and health systems research to build a critical mass of technical and scientific expertise with strong leadership to enhance research innovation and impact. ICRH Emerging Networks will develop a co-ordinated national approach to the evaluation and resolution of specific research challenges. Moreover, Emerging Networks will provide a forum for sharing ideas, resources and best practices as well as incorporate plans for attracting, training, and retaining the best talent in health research. When teams, groups and networks are established in its community, the Emerging Network is to align stakeholders and its diverse communities towards the attainment of common goals. This funding opportunity has a two step application process. Phase 1 requires you to complete a Letter of Intent (LOI). Phase 2 requires you to complete an Application upon invitation. |

To be funded through this competition, each Emerging Network must secure, by the full application deadline, new partner funds at a minimum of $2.05M* over the term of the grant. *This amount represents approximately 50% of the total ICRH contribution per Network.To complete your Letter of Intent, follow the instructions in the Team Grants / Emerging Team Grants - ResearchNet "Letter of Intent" Phase Instructions along with any additional instructions found below under "Specific Instructions" |

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission. |
