Description:

In general, team grants support expert teams of talented and experienced researchers carrying out high-quality research on important health issues best addressed through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. These teams provide superior research training and mentorship environments, and support the production of new knowledge and the translation of research findings into improved health and health care.

This Funding Opportunity is a component of the Canadian Epigenetics, Environment and Health Research Consortium (CEEHRC), one of CIHR's Roadmap Signature Initiatives. This multi-agency initiative is led by CIHR, with a number of dedicated funding opportunities planned over the next several years. One of the main goals of CEEHRC is to link innovative research in epigenetics to human health and disease. Toward this end, CEEHRC recognizes the importance of all levels of research in epigenetics, from individual cells to whole populations. Key to all approaches is a focus on collaborative research : namely, integrating different methodologies and disciplines aligned along key health needs. This funding opportunity encourages the translation of research in epigenetics to health benefit, recognizing that this will ultimately require the participation of researchers across the full spectrum of health research, including biomedical, clinical, health systems and health policy, and population and public health.

Application Details: CIHR Team Grant proposals will be evaluated as a single, integrated entity. While each research component included in the application must be meritorious, it is critical to demonstrate that the CIHR Team Grant brings added value, in terms of the approach to improving the health of Canadians or strengthening the Canadian health care system. The application process for this funding opportunity is comprised of two steps: Letter of Intent and Application To complete your Application, follow the instructions in the Team Grants - ResearchNet "Application" Phase Instructions along with any additional instructions found below under "Specific Instructions".
