Description:

In general, team grants support expert teams of talented and experienced researchers carrying out high-quality research on important health issues best addressed through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. These teams provide superior research training and mentorship environments, and support the production of new knowledge and the translation of research findings into improved health and health care.

(Phase 2: Full Application) 201210TTF - CBPHC covers the broad range of primary prevention (including public health) and primary care services within the community, including health promotion and disease prevention; the diagnosis, treatment, and management of chronic and episodic illness; rehabilitation support; and end of life care. CBPHC involves the coordination and provision of integrated care provided by a range of health providers, including nurses, social workers, pharmacists, dieticians, public health practitioners, physicians and others in a range of community settings including people's homes, healthcare clinics, physicians' offices, public health units, hospices, and workplaces. It is delivered in a way that is patient- and population-centred and responsive to economic, social, cultural and gender differences. The team must include scientists, health professionals and decision maker members as outlined in the Eligibility section under Eligibility to Apply.

Application Details:

CIHR Team Grant proposals will be evaluated as a single, integrated entity. While each research component included in the application must be meritorious, it is critical to demonstrate that the CIHR Team Grant brings added value, in terms of the approach to improving the health of Canadians or strengthening the Canadian health care system.

Selected applicants will be invited to submit an application through ResearchNet by the deadline date. It is expected that the full application will generally be consistent with the Letter of Intent with respect to the outline of the research program and the participating applicants. Applicants are encouraged to make changes to their proposed program of research based on feedback received during the LOI stage. Your Letter of Intent / Application will be submitted using ResearchNet. Scan and upload the signed signature pages including the routing slip in the Print/Upload Signature Pages task in ResearchNet prior to submitting your Letter of Intent / Application.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE INCLUDED

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
