Description:

In general, team grants support expert teams of talented and experienced researchers carrying out high-quality research on important health issues best addressed through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. These teams provide superior research training and mentorship environments, and support the production of new knowledge and the translation of research findings into improved health and health care.

This Funding Opportunity is a component of the Canadian Epigenetics, Environment and Health Research Consortium (CEEHRC), one of CIHR's Roadmap Signature Initiatives. The overarching objective of the CEEHRC Team Grant funding opportunity is to enhance the translation of epigenetics research to health benefits. The goal of this program is to support collaborative research teams that have the capability to transform epigenetics research, enhance our understanding of gene-environment interactions, address major health research questions (including health services/policy/economic/ethical, legal or social issues), and foster the application of knowledge gained to the clinic and/or to populations.

Application Details:

The application process is comprised of two stages: Letter of Intent and Full Application. CIHR Team Grant proposals will be evaluated as a single, integrated entity. While each research component included in the application must be meritorious, it is critical to demonstrate that the CIHR Team Grant brings added value, in terms of the approach to improving the health of Canadians or strengthening the Canadian health care system.

Your Letter of Intent will be submitted using ResearchNet. Scan and upload the signed signature pages including the routing slip in the Print/Upload Signature Pages task in ResearchNet prior to submitting your Letter of Intent / Application. To complete your Letter of Intent, follow the instructions in the Team Grants - ResearchNet "Letter of Intent" Phase Instructions along with any additional instructions found below under "Specific Instructions".

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
