Doctoral Research Awards are intended to provide special recognition and support to students who are pursuing a PhD or doctoral degree in a health-related field in Canada or abroad. These candidates are expected to have an exceptionally high potential for future research achievement and productivity. The CIHR HIV/AIDS Community-Based Research (CBR) Program assists community-based organizations, non-governmental organizations and institutions in developing the knowledge necessary to carry out their HIV/AIDS work in the most effective manner, and in creating expertise within these communities to conduct their own research. The aim of this Doctoral Research Award is to provide special recognition and support to students who are pursuing a PhD degree in HIV/AIDS Community-based Research in an effort to support Canada's next generation of health research leaders and creative agents for change. |

Funds are available for this competition to support Doctoral Research Award applications in specific research areas. Please see CIHR guidelines. Reminder to applicants: Please ensure that your application is complete (including all required signatures) and submitted on time to CIHR. Effective September 1, 2008, CIHR will assume no responsibility in following-up with applicants who submit an incomplete application.
