Description:

The principal emphasis of the NeuroDevNet Research Training Program is to develop crossdisciplinary and collaborative skill sets for the next generation of Scientists, Clinicians, and Health Services professionals. This cross-disciplinary approach will help provide young researchers with the diverse vocabulary and experience to interact with the neurodevelopmental disorders research community. Applicant must be enrolled in a doctoral level degree program at a NeuroDevNet Network Member Institution or be participating in research at a NeuroDevNet Network Member Institution (see list of NeuroDevNet Network Member Institutions; http://www.neurodevnet.ca/about/network-members). Applicant must have eligibility to receive and accept CIHR/NSRC/SSHRC funding as per Tri-council rules. At least one of the applicant?s supervisor/co-mentors must be a NeuroDevNet Investigator or Affiliate with an academic appointment at a Canadian University that is eligible to receive NeuroDevNet Funds.

Doctoral Fellowship Award: Open to highly qualified individuals applying to or enrolled in a doctoral program at a recognized institution (NeuroDevNet Network Member) leading to a Ph.D. degree and participating in research related to brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders, neuroinformatics, neuroethics, and/or knowledge translation. Postdoctoral Fellowship Award: Open to highly qualified applicants with MD and/or PhD degrees. Clinical Research Fellowship Award: Open to applicants with an advanced degree and/or licensure in Health Science related fields, neuroinformatics, neuroethics, and/or knowledge translation (including, but not limited to Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Clinical Psychology, advanced informatic analytics) and will be engaged in mentored research related to brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Application Details: NeuroDevNet is offering Doctoral Fellowship, Postdoctoral Fellowship, and Clinical Research Fellowship Awards for study and training in the areas of the basic biology, neuroinformatics, neuroethics, diagnostics, treatments of neurodevelopmental disorders, and/or knowledge translation. To reach as wide a group of trainees and mentors with a cross-disciplinary training program, the NeuroDevNet Trainee Award Program is based on matched funding from a partner organization/institution. Matched funding can derive from host institutions, foundations or other organizations or from already established NeuroDevNet Training partnerships.Submit application packet (including Signature Cover page, completed Application Form, Mentor/Co-Mentor Support Form(s), Scans of official academic transcripts, and NCE-Common CV). Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
