Description: |
The Local Poverty Reduction Fund (the Fund) was announced in April 2015 and is now in its final year of awarding grants. The Fund is providing $50 million over six years to support innovative, local, community-driven solutions that measurably improve the lives of those most affected by poverty. The fund?s focus on measuring success ? and the evidence that will be shared as a result ? will help support local efforts to prevent and reduce poverty and to build a body of evidence of what works. In Round 3 we will continue to focus on the community level, but desire to capture a more focused range of projects that add to and complement rather than duplicate those projects already underway through Round 1 and Round 2.
Projects related to entrepreneurship, affordable transportation, employment programs for persons with disabilities, and social enterprise models are examples of initiatives that have not been widely funded through the Fund.
Our existing evidence base could also be bolstered through support for projects that serve the following client groups: seniors, unattached persons aged 45-64, rural Indigenous persons, newcomers and persons with disabilities. |
