Description: |
Through the Alumni Research Awards program, the Dean of Social Science offers these grants annually. The maximum value of an award is $3,000. The Dean makes these awards with the help of an Advisory Committee. Each year, in January, the Committee invites applications from faculty members in Social Science, including those on limited-term and limited-duties appointments. Graduate students are not eligible. By accepting a Faculty of Social Science Alumni Research Award, successful candidates agree to submit to the Dean of Social Science a short final report on the use made of the funds. Award holders also agree to inform the Dean of any publication helped by this award, which you will mention therein as follows:

Please note as well that all equipment bought through a University grant is the property of the University and must be labelled as such. |

Application Details: |
Special consideration will be given to projects for which other funding is not readily available, and to candidates who at the time of the award, are not beneficiaries of major research grants.Please submit a single copy of the application form, signed by your Departmental Chair, to the Office of the Dean of Social Science by the deadline March 11, 2011. The results of the competition will be announced in early April, and the funds will be made available on May 1. |

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. |
