The Foundation is intended, by Spencer's direction, to investigate ways in which education, broadly conceived, can be improved around the world. From the first, the Foundation has been dedicated to the belief that research is necessary to the improvement in education. The Foundation is thus committed to supporting high-quality investigation of education through its research programs and to strengthening and renewing the educational research community through its fellowship and training programs and related activities. Areas of Inquiry: Education and Social Opportunity, Organizational Learning, Teaching & Instructional resources, purposes and values of education, field initiated proposals. |

Application Details: |
Principal Investigators (PIs) applying for a Research Grant must have an earned doctorate in an academic discipline or professional field, or appropriate experience in an education research-related profession. Proposals should be received in hard copy by the deadline date. Please send four copies of the complete proposal application (including all attachments) to the mailing address below. Your submission should be addressed to the Spencer Area of Inquiry under which your proposal primarily falls. (Please do not send your proposal to more than one area.)INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM |

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. |
