Description:

The Grant-in-Aid (GIA) program, a national peer reviewed application process, supports pulmonary research or development projects and offers grants for research operating costs, including laboratory supplies, technicians and some equipment for up to one or two years (varies from province to province). The Canadian Lung Association (CLA) manages the GIA program application and peer review processes. The provincial lung associations make funding decisions and administer the awards, taking into account application budgets and competition results.

Registration: Friday, November 15, 2013. Application: Original: Post-marked Friday, December 6, 2013 Electronic copy: Friday, December 6, 2013by 4:30 p.m. (Pacific Time) Registration 1. Applicants are required to register with the Canadian Lung Association via www.ngr.fluidreview.com by Friday, November 15, 2013 Submitting Applications 2. CLA must receive the electronic copy of your application for the Grants-in-Aid in their complete form no later than Friday, December6, 2013by 4:30 p.m. (Pacific Time).Please submit the electronic copy via www.ngr.fluidreview.com. 3. Original applications must be sent to your provincial lung association and post-marked no later than Friday,December 6, 2013.

Application Details:

Applications will be considered for research proposals that are directly relevant to human respiratory health problems. Please note that grants deemed outside the respiratory field will be eliminated from the selection process. In order to encourage young investigators, particular consideration will be given to requests from investigators who have received their first faculty appointment within the past seven years.

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
