Description:

Building on the scientific excellence and strategic value provided by Ontario-based researchers, the HSRF will fund policy relevant research across the province. The HSRF supports health services/system and population health research also referred to as CIHR pillars 3 and 4, as well as KTE. The HSRF will not fund biomedical or clinical research, also referred to as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) pillars 1 and 2. All references to HSRF research and/or KTE program and project activities refer to health services/system and population health initiatives only.

The purpose of the HSRF Calls for Targeted Research is to solicit and fund focused research applications within the following three (3) MOHLTC priority areas: Nursing, Problem Gambling and Tobacco Control. Please refer to the Detailed HSRF Calls for Targeted Research Full Application instructions for definitions of targeted research priority areas and areas of focus.

Application Details:

The HSRF consists of three streams: Program Awards, Capacity Awards, Specialized Research Centres. In addition, HSRF funding may be administered through calls for targeted research to ensure ministry priorities are addressed.

Applications will be a two step process, NOI and Full Application. Applicants submit a completed notice of intent (NOI) using the MOHLTC's online grant application system by Monday, October 5th, 2015 at 5:00pm. The NOI is mandatory. Some of the components of the NOI will be binding. Specifically, the targeted priority area, the Project Lead, and the Knowledge User identified cannot be changed in the Full Application.

20% INDIRECT COST MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE BUDGET

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
