Description:

The HSF offers funds to support the direct costs for projects in the area of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular research. This support may be provided for up to a maximum of three years.

Applications for Grants-In-Aid must be submitted online using the HSF's online system (CIRCUlink) no later than 15:00 (EDT) 29 August 2013. CIRCUlink will not accept additional submissions after this deadline. Applicants must also send a copy of the signature page, with original signatures to HSFC. Maximum number of years of support for Grants-in-Aid is now 3 years for all Provincial Foundations.

Application Details: Research is supported across the four health research themes: basic biomedical, clinical, health services and systems, population health. Principal Investigators will have a full time academic or institutional appointment in Canada. However, under special circumstances, applications from other scientifically qualified individuals may be considered. In such circumstances, the research must be conducted at a Canadian institution and Principal Investigators must have an academic or institutional appointment as of July 1, the start date of the award. Any applicant in an adjunct position must submit a letter from their dean/chair/division director to clarify their specific appointment, i.e. amount of protected time available, local infrastructure in place.INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM
NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
