Description:

The HSF offers funds to support the direct costs for projects in the area of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular research. These funds may include lab supplies, technicians and some equipment.

Support for projects across the spectrum of basic science to applied research is available for up to five years within Ontario. Partnership with other funding organization(s) will be considered. A letter of intent will be required by July 15, 2010, for applicants seeking and/or receiving additional funds from other sources. Please contact the HSFC office for details.

Application Details:

Research is supported across the four health research themes: basic biomedical, clinical, health services and systems, population health. Applications for Grants-in-Aid must be received in their complete form by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC) no later than 16:00 (EDT) September 1 of each year. If the deadline falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, HSFC must receive the application no later than 16:00 (EDT) on the previous Friday.

Applications for Grants-in-Aid must be submitted online using the Heart and Stroke Foundation?s new online system (CIRCUlink) no later than 15:00 (EDT) September 1 of each year. At that time, CIRCUlink will not accept any additional submissions. Maximum number of years of support for Grants-in-Aid is now 3 years for all Provincial Foundations.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
