Description:

The objective of this program is to provide established researchers with funds to generate sufficient preliminary data to become competitive for funds from other sources, such as the National Institute of Health (NIH). The guiding mission of the foundation is to stimulate and encourage innovative research in the basic biomedical and clinical sciences, which is likely to increase our understanding of the etiology, pathogenesis, therapy, and prevention of the inflammatory bowel diseases. Collaborative efforts between basic scientists and clinicians are encouraged.

After Letter of Intent is submitted and approved, CCFA Research Grants Administration will send an e-mail to applicant with a link to complete and submit full proposal.

Application Details:

Applicant must hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree and must be employed by an institution (public non-profit, private non-profit or government) engaged in health care and/or health related research. He/she must have attained independence from his/her mentor. Eligibility is not restricted by citizenship or geography. Proposal MUST be relevant to inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's Disease or ulcerative colitis). Only one application is allowed per applicant per submission date. Simultaneous submission of a Senior Research Award and a Training Award is not permitted.

The full application is due on January 14. Access to the electronic version will be closed by 5:00pmET on that date. All application attachments must be uploaded as .pdf documents. The master (paper copy) of full application with original signatures must be postmarked on or before the submission deadline of January 14.

INDIRECT COSTS OF 10% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT BUDGET

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
