Description: |
JDRF announces a new award opportunity to support ground-breaking, high risk/high reward studies aimed at demonstrating the merit and feasibility of novel concepts and innovative approaches to accelerate beta cell regeneration research for type 1 diabetes. The overall objective of this one year award is to foster pioneering research to generate
preliminary data that addresses gaps and challenges currently limiting research progress and that could provide the basis for potential future support by JDRF or by other funding entities. This RFA is intended to provide a oneyear
award to support studies aimed at investigating novel and compelling scientific
hypotheses and approaches to address major bottlenecks or knowledge gaps, thereby
accelerating JDRF?s human beta cell regeneration research goals. These proposed studies
may initially have little or no preliminary data; the pilot study would allow ideas to be tested
and may provide a basis for continued support through future JDRF awards or funding from
other agencies. |
