Description:

This Scholarship for the next generation of scientists is composed of two parts and is for a period of three (3) years. The first part is a post-doctoral salary award for one year for a candidate finishing his/her fellowship. The second part consists of an operating grant once the candidate has obtained a faculty position in a recognized Canadian institution. This operating grant is for a maximum of two years. The Scholarship for the next generation of scientists cannot be renewed.

The deadline to send an application (by messenger or regular mail) to the CRS for a Scholarship for the next generation of scientists is April 30, 2014. Applications must be postage stamped on this day. - Application form: electronic version and paper copy - The ?Disclaimer and Indemnity? page for both part 1 and 2 - The ?Commitment from the university or research institute? - Any originals of the certificates for research involving human subjects, animals or biohazards requiring containment These certificates may follow the application?s approval for funding but must be received no later than one month before the operating grant (part 2) takes effect. All applicants must ensure that an official transcript for all university degrees is sent to the CRS by the appropriate University authorities before April 30th, 2013.

Application Details: Scholarships for the next generation of scientists are offered to holders of a PhD or a professional diploma (MD, DMV, or other) obtained in September 2007 or later and undergoing an additional postdoctoral training since a minimum of two (2) years, each one of these 2 years having been completed uninterrupted, with at least 75% of time devoted to research. NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
