Description:

The Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) is calling for research applications focused on generating evidence about the impact on nutrition of population-level policy and/or program interventions. Ultimately, funded projects should contribute to primary prevention of heart disease and stroke within and/or applicable to Canadian contexts and populations. The intent is to generate evidence for decision-makers who require relevant research to inform policies and programs. Proposals that focus on populations living in conditions of vulnerability and populations at greater than average risk for heart disease and stroke are strongly encouraged.

The key objectives are: To advance knowledge of effective nutrition-related population-level policy and/or program interventions that support primary prevention of heart disease and stroke and which are relevant to Canadian contexts and populations. To build interdisciplinary collaboration for research on effective population-level policy and/or program interventions that impact nutrition, including those that operate within and outside the health sector. To facilitate the mobilization of knowledge through engagement of scientists and decision makers and end users to support diffusion of effective population-level policy and/or program interventions that impact nutrition relevant to Canadian contexts and populations.
