Fellowship awards are designed to support research training at the post-doctoral level, in the field of diabetes. Candidates are expected to pursue a career in diabetes-related research as an independent investigator upon completion of post-doctoral training

The Personnel Awards Guide and Application Forms, 2011 Competition, supersede all previous Canadian Diabetes Association Grants and Awards Guides and Applications. Applicants should always refer to the latest version. The supervisor must make a commitment that the fellow will devote at least 75% of his/her academic effort to diabetes-related research. The success of an application will depend on the written guarantee from the supervisor.

Application Details:

Applicants must have completed a PhD, or their professional doctorate (MD, DDS, PharmD, or DVM) or expect to be completed by the start of the funding period. The Canadian Diabetes Association will only accept one Personnel Award application per applicant. The CDA will support a maximum of two trainees (i.e. Post-Doctoral Fellows and/or Doctoral Student Research Awardees) per supervisor at any given time.

INDIRECT COSTS MUST NOT BE LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
