The AMS Phoenix Fellowships are designed to further the understanding of and commitment to new approaches to educational and clinical practice. These are prestigious awards that will be targeted to individuals with new and imaginative ideas for innovative clinical practice, education or research that are likely to have direct and meaningful impact on how health professionals develop and sustain their abilities to provide compassionate care.

The Fellowship is not intended to fund project-based work, rather is focused on providing support to individuals who will take on leadership roles and activities to address one (or both) of the following areas of focus that are integral to AMS Phoenix: Where do healthcare providers learn and practice compassionate care? and How to engage patients and families in education and practice of compassionate care?

Application Details:

Each year, the AMS will select a new group of Phoenix Fellows with the intent of building a cohort of champions to advance the goals of the Phoenix Project. In their roles as clinicians, educators, or researchers, they will serve as role models for delivering compassionate healthcare.

2 STAGES TO APPLICATION: 1. LOI due Friday February 12, 2016 at 5PM EST 2. Full application by INVITE ONLY due May 13, 2016 at 5PM EST MATCHING COMPONENT REQUIRED: AMS will provide up to $25,000 in funding for one year with a matching $25,000 coming from the applicant's supporting organization (i.e. university, college, hospital, or employer).

NO INDIRECT COSTS LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
