Description:

The New Directions Grants Program aims to stimulate a new direction of research for established faculty, and to support the careers of their student scientists and engineers.

This program is designed as a source of funds for new concepts and new projects for the lead PI and his/her research group.

Application Details:

A new research direction means that it is something different from previous research performed by the lead principal investigator (lead PI), even though it may involve a field of science or engineering in which others are already working.

The Petroleum Research Fund gives priority to support of students (undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral), each principal investigator (lead and co-PI) must be eligible to serve as the formal, official supervisor

INDIRECT COSTS MUST NOT BE LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: All Letters of Intent and Full Applications must be processed through Research Development & Services for institutional approval. Requests for Institutional approvals should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. A ROLA Proposal (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean electronic approvals) is required for each submission.
