Description:

SRCFC Major Grants support biomedical research into intellectual impairment focused on the following: -The causes and eventual cure of intellectual impairment, such as Autism and Down Syndrome, especially as it affects children. - The causes and eventual cure of Alzheimer's Disease. - Research into other forms of intellectual impairment may be considered.

Letters of support should be scanned and included in PDF format in the electronic submission. NEW - Applications are limited to researchers who have no more than five (5) years experience as an independent investigator as of January 1, 2010. A researcher who is designated as the Principal Investigator on the research grant must be based in, or formally affiliated with (but not necessarily receive salary support from), an eligible Canadian Host Institution such as a university, research institute or health care agency.

Application Details:

The focus of the research should be on the causes and cure of the disease as opposed to the active treatment or palliative care. Applications are limited to researchers who have no more than five (5) years experience as an independent investigator as of January 1, 2009.

Applicants must submit the unbound original with signatures on or before the deadline date. Applicants are also required to email the completed application form including all supporting documentation in PDF format to grantsubmission@srcf.ca on or before the deadline date. This submission should consist of one (1) PDF file containing all relevant information. Original signatures are only required only on the hard copy submitted directly to the office; electronic signatures are not acceptable. The hard copy application you submit must match the application that you submit electronically word for word or it will not be accepted for review.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
