Description:

The IBRO Fellowships Programme aims to foster neuroscience research especially in less well-funded countries by providing support to high quality neuroscientists from diverse geographic and scientific areas (US/Canada Region excluded) who wish to broaden the scope of their training in neuroscience by working abroad in good laboratories, or participating at international neuroscience meetings. Priority is given to those who have not obtained funding from this programme within the past three years and who, after completion of the fellowship, are willing to return to their home countries, bringing with them new knowledge and skills to advance neuroscience in their regions. Only applications completed before the corresponding deadline will be considered.

IBRO Research Fellowships, which include the John G Nicholls and Rita Levi-Montalcini Named Fellowships, support post-doctoral training to applicants under the age of 45 for up to one year abroad in good laboratories. The funding for a 12-month fellowship is 33,300 euros. An "Outstanding IBRO Fellowship" of 37,500 euros will be awarded to the distinguished candidate.

Application Details:

Application requirements: 1.A letter of acceptance from your proposed supervisor (Host Scientist) indicating that he/she is willing to accept the candidate and agrees on the proposed project. 2.A letter of reference from your present Supervisor. 3.If available, evidence of an offer that you will have a position to return to in your home country after the fellowship.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
