Description:

To support the career development of researchers and favour European research excellence, the European Commission has developed a series of funding schemes called the Marie Curie Actions. Their objectives are to: - strengthen, quantitatively and qualitatively, the human potential in research and technology in Europe, stimulate people to enter into the researcher's profession, encourage European researchers to stay in Europe, attract researchers from all over the world to Europe, make Europe more attractive to the best researchers.

For each call a dedicated call page is set up. Published calls can be found through 'Find a call' in the left navigation on this page. Proposed IRSES projects can cover any scientific discipline. To prepare and submit a proposal for a Marie Curie Initial Training Network you will need the complete Information package which is available from the call page. The Guide for Applicants contains the essential information to guide you through the process of preparing and submitting a proposal. Proposals are submitted electronically via the Commission's Electronic Proposal Submission Service (EPSS) before a strictly-enforced deadline.

Application Details:

The Marie Curie Actions are open to researchers of all ages, experience and nationality including those returning to research after a break. The Marie Curie International Research Staff Exchange Scheme aims at strengthening research partnerships through short period staff exchanges and networking activities between European research organisations and research organisations from countries with which the Community has an S&T agreement or are in the process of negotiating one and countries covered by the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). A staff exchange programme can apply for Community support for a period of 24-48 months. The duration of exchanges for each researcher or technical/management staff will be for a maximum of 12 months.

All partners involved in a joint exchange programme are expected to second their staff and thus continue paying their salary during the stay abroad. The EC financial contribution is a fixed amount (flat rate) of ?1900 per seconded researcher month to be used towards the project goals and objectives. This amount may be also used to cover costs for the management of the project; however this cannot lead to a reduction of number of exchanges. Proposals must be submitted electronically, using the Commission's Electronic Proposal Submission Service (EPSS). Applicants can access the EPSS from https://www.epss-fp7.org. Proposals arriving by any other means than through EPSS are regarded as `not submitted?, and will not be evaluated. More details are available in the Sponsor guidelines.

INDIRECT COST OF 40% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT BUDGET

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
