Description:

This program funds stroke-related research through a competitive, peer-reviewed process. The Ontario Stroke Network (OSN) which provides provincial coordination for the OSS will be responsible for the administration of the OSS Research Program The Ontario Stroke System (OSS) Research Program is funded through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC).

The OSS Research Program?s priority is to fund research that addresses the following: OSS Strategic Directions, Supports the MOHLTC?s Strategic Directions, and has linkages to MOHLTC Health Priorities and LHIN, and OSS Research Committee yearly focused funding priorities. 2010/2012 priorities are: Addresses one or more of the aspects of the continuum of care, Knowledge Translation, Quality improvement.

Application Details:

Ontario Stroke System researchers, clinicians, professional staff, academic staff and stakeholders are eligible for OSS research funding. Stakeholders may include researchers, graduate students or others who are linked to OSS through other researchers, clinicians, and/or professional staff. The OSS Research Program funds stroke-related research projects that are hypothesis-driven and have generalizable and transferable outcomes (CIHR Themes 2, 3 & 4). The program does not fund laboratory,or basic science research (CIHR Theme 1)

Proposals must be submitted electronically to the OSS Research Sub-Committee Chair: Margaret Risk c/o ontariostrokenetwork@hsf.on.ca. Please include 2 (two) copies of the proposal: a) a completed proposal and a copy without names of PI and research team to be used for the blind review process.

INDIRECT COSTS OF 18% MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT BUDGET

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
