Description:

Under the Canada-China Agreement for Scientific and Technological Cooperation, the two governments have agreed to foster joint activities aimed at generating new or expanded research and technology-based partnerships between the two countries (termed as Partnership Development Activities, PDA). The objectives of these PDAs are to seek innovative ways of cooperation in order to work, collaboratively, on solutions to existing problems and/or innovative improvements to current technologies. These will typically not be participating in recurrent conferences or tradeshows.

Applicants are encouraged to contact the Country Manager at ISTPCanada in preparing their applications.

Application Details:

All proposals must be prepared jointly by applicants in Canada and China and be submitted to ISTPCanada in Chinese and in either English or French (applications are not to be submitted to CAIEP). A fundamental requirement is that the proposed Partnership Development Activities must include no less than 8 participants from each side. ISTPCanada will limit its contribution to the lesser of CDN$25,000 per Activity or 50% of the eligible costs of Canadian applicants, including the funding of two visiting specialists from the Chinese team to attend the PDA in Canada.

Proposals must be signed by the parties in both countries responsible for the Activity and the authorized signatory of the applying organizations. The Chinese party also needs to stamp their Official Seal next to their authorized signatory. Please refer to Application Guidelines for Partnership Development Activities document for more details on the application.

INDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED BY THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
