Description:

Fellowship awards are designed to support research training at the post-doctoral level, in the field of diabetes. Candidates are expected to pursue a career in diabetes-related research as an independent investigator upon completion of post-doct training

Personnel Awards applications are due on November 15. Because this date falls on a weekend, applications will be due Monday, November 16, 2009. Only a maximum of two trainees per supervisor will be eligible for support under this competition.

Application Details:

Applicants must have completed a PhD, or their professional doctorate (MD, DDS, PharmD, or DVM) or expect to be completed by the start of the funding period.

All applications must clearly demonstrate relevance to diabetes. The supervisor must make a commitment that the fellow will devote at least 75% of his/her academic effort to diabetes related research. Awardees must request one, two or three years of funding. A research allowance of $1,500 can be claimed annually. NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
