Description: |
This program supports the creation of alliances between community organizations and postsecondary institutions which will foster innovative research, training in areas of social, cultural or economic development of Canadian communities. Applicants successful at the Letter of Intent stage are eligible for a development grant of up to $20,000. At the Letter of Intent stage, eligible expenses are limited to travel, workshops, meetings, secretarial support and communication and dissemination activities. |

Application Details: |
This is a two-stage application process, LOI and APPLICATION. Applications must be submitted jointly by one or more postsecondary institutions / communities that may refer to either a geographic focus or an issue focus. The grant may be used to cover non-physical infrastructure costs for the support and co-ordination of the research teams and for carrying out some of the research activities. Applicants should familiarize themselves with the regulations on eligible and ineligible expenses. Applications must be submitted jointly by one or more postsecondary institutions and one or more organizations from the community. "Community" may refer to either a geographic focus or an issue/interest focus. A successful letter of intent is required before a full application can be submittedINDIRECT COSTS ARE NOT LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM. |

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline. |
