The Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN) supports research that has the potential to improve the health and quality of life for people living with and affected by HIV, contribute to HIV prevention efforts in Ontario, and address issues that are a priority to the HIV community.

Special consideration should be given to community engagement criteria as outlined in section 5 of the General Program Information and Guidelines. Community engagement in HIV research is viewed by the OHTN as an essential mechanism to ensuring that research is relevant to community needs. The OHTN also expects that funded researchers understand the HIV epidemic and its impact on people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
