Application Details:

Applications must be submitted by the project director on behalf of the research team. The project director must satisfy all the regular eligibility requirements for an applicant as set out in the Definitions section.

Only those applicants successful at the LOI stage are invited to submit a formal application. Applications must be submitted online viat the SSHRC website. Grants are awarded for seven years. This is subject to a satisfactory site visit by a SSHRC-appointed committee that reviews the project's progress at its mid-point. If the review committee deems progress to be unsatisfactory, SSHRC may suspend or cancel funding. Eligible proposals must be of such a scope that they require a minimum budget of $100,000 for each of the seven years. The maximum budget is $2.5 million over seven years. Grant holders normally receive a "start-up" visit in January, the month after SSHRC announces competition results. Funds are released shortly thereafter?once team membership and non-SSHRC funding sources are confirmed.

INDIRECT COSTS MUST NOT BE LEVIED ON THIS PROGRAM

NOTE: Letters of Intent and Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development Services for institutional signatures, and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant, Chair and Dean signatures). Requests for Institutional signatures should be received no less than 3 days prior to the posted Sponsor deadline.
