SSHRC Insight Grant Program

The goal of the Insight program is to build knowledge and understanding about people, societies and the world by supporting research excellence in all subject areas eligible for funding from SSHRC.

Insight Grants provide longer-term funding for mature research projects proposed by individuals or teams. Insight Grants may be valued at up to $500,000 over one to five years.

Notice of Intent:

All researchers who intend to apply for a SSHRC Insight Grant in the 2012 competition must submit a Notice of Intent by August 15, 2012. Applicants who have not submitted a Notice of Intent by this date will be ineligible to submit a full application to the October 2012 competition.

Selecting the Appropriate Federal Granting Agency

A researcher or research team may not submit identical applications to more than one of the three federal granting agencies (CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC) at the same time, or submit to an agency an application already funded by one of the other agences.
